Language Learning Lab Quiz
The Games with words site was designed to gather crowdsourced data from users worldwide in order to address previously unanswered scientific questions. As the Senior Research Assistant at the Language Learning Lab at Boston College’s Psychology department, I worked on projects involving human-computer interaction and human behavior.

Layout Design
When researching scientific websites that rely on crowdsourced information, I noticed that the layouts would oftentimes be simplistic and youthful so that the users would have an easier time getting around the website. It was important to capture and hold the user’s attention for the duration of the quiz. To achieve this, we made sure the website was engaging.

Data Visualization
The image to the left is a picture of what the interactive data visualization concept map looked like. I handled a data set that contained information from over a million English-speaking users from all over the world. The purpose of this project was to display information in a way that the general public could understand and interact with. The map displays which percentage of the people in English-speaking nations believes a sentence to be grammatical vs ungrammatical.

Data Visualization Continuation
I began to realize my design by using a combination of Tableau, html, css, and JavaScript. While the visual aspect of the project is still a work in progress, the data sets have been uploaded and the site is interactive.
